Agent of Atlético-MG academy gem explains punishment for disciplinary incident and talks about the future

The agent of midfielder Iseppe, Luciano Ramalho, explained the disciplinary incident that led to the player being sidelined from Atlético-MG’s first-team activities.

Integrated into the senior squad, Iseppe arrived late for training on January 19. He did not show up at the scheduled time at Cidade do Galo. As soon as the club noticed his absence, it made contact to understand the reason.

The training session took place one day after the match against Tombense at Arena MRV, for the third round of the Campeonato Mineiro. The midfielder was not used in that game.

— The episode that resulted in the punishment is clear. He arrived late, there was some discomfort, but he has already apologized to the group and to the board, and he will take responsibility for the mistake he made. If this has happened before, the answer is no. He has never had any disciplinary issues. Unfortunately, it was the first time this happened and it ended up generating repercussions that, in my opinion, were somewhat exaggerated — said the agent.

The midfielder is currently training separately from the main group. There is still no definition regarding his future — whether he will be reintegrated, sent to the under-20 squad, or loaned out. The player was also fined, according to a contractual clause.

— The punishment was defined internally by the club. Even I, as his agent, do not have access to the exact details of how this punishment was handled. What is certain is that there is a fine and that, for now, he will train separately from the group.

— Regarding a possible sale or loan, there has been some movement, but that does not reflect reality. It is important to make it clear that even before this episode, there were already inquiries and interest from some clubs. There was simply a coincidence between this issue happening and, shortly after, news emerging about interested clubs.

Iseppe has been part of the first team since last year. This season, he started the first two matches of the State Championship as a starter.

In 2025, the midfielder showed changes in cardiological exams during preseason and had to stay away from the pitch for about four months. After that, he played one match with the senior team.

— The player is aware of the mistake he made. He will accept the consequences, work even harder, avoid situations that could harm his image, and remain focused on his job. That sums it up. He knows he made a mistake, he will pay for it, and life goes on — Ramalho concluded.

At 19 years old, Iseppe has been with Atlético since 2022. He has consistently stood out in the youth categories. In addition to the Galo, the midfielder also had spells in the youth setups of Santos and Francana.
